How To Apply Beevital Hive Clean
A quick and simple method for the removal of varroa mites
Store Beevital® Hive Clean at body temperature (maximum 36,6 C 98F). It can then be applied to the racks when air temperatures are between -5 C (-41F) and +25 C (77 F).
If the temperature is too high or the hive is too hot the bees may leave the honeycombs, and the product's efficacy will be reduced.
The best time of day to apply Beevital® Hive Clean is in the late afternoon or early evening, when most of the bees are in the hive.
Apply to the rows between honeycombs (directly onto the bees) with a gentle squeeze (see picture). Depending on the strength of the colony and the time of the year the recommended amount to use is between 10ml and 20ml. There should be enough to apply it to 3 to 6 rows.
Keep new sachets in your pocket at body temperature, ready to open and administer.
Use the sachets by tearing the specially designed sealed end, which allows you to gently squeeze the sachet to squirt drops effectively.
Please note, only one sachet is required per treatment.
Your bees will soon begin to groom each other. The varroa mites will find it harder to attach to the bees and this combined with the cleansing process will result in the mites falling to the floor, which when covered with a Beevital Varroa board will cause them to adhere to the surface which prevents them from reinfesting the hive.
